As a North East based artist I have the luxury of capturing not only local scenes like Tyneside but also places on the fringe, like the village of Seaton Sluice in Northumberland.
This location is often overlooked by artists, however with the iconic Seaton Burn and picturesque harbour it truly is a hidden treasure trove of North Eastern beauty. Needless to say, this blog post will focus on how I brought Seaton Sluice’s magic to life through my artwork.
Bringing the Northumberland Coast into your Home Interior
Seaton Burn is such an integral part of the village’s identity, its harbour being a famous exporter of salt, coal and bottles for centuries. Therefore it only makes sense to have paintings such as ‘Boats and Buoys at Seaton Sluice’ which show the significance of Seaton Sluice’s coastal heritage.
Delving Deeper into the Flora and Fauna
Whilst harbour scenes are imperative to encapsulating the village's identity, the area in Springtime also provides a totally different perspective. The famous King’s Arms Pub becomes the focal point in this scene, whilst a cluster of yellow daffodils add a colourful punch in the foreground.
What’s more is this design comes in the form of a greetings card, which means if you don’t have wall space for an original painting or a print you can still capture the magic of Seaton Sluice in miniature form.
It’s also the perfect product to send to loved ones to capture a memory of home and send smiles through the mail.
How about a festive twist?
If you love my coastal scenes but are also in the mood for something different, there’s no need to worry as we do Seaton Sluice all year round! Our ‘Snowtime at Seaton Sluice’ greetings card is sure to give you that Christmas fix. This scene of a snow covered Seaton Sluice underneath the moonlight is truly enchanting and sure to bring you some of that festive cheer.
We sell Seaton Sluice paintings big and small …
Whilst, the previous images show individual snapshots from around Seaton Sluice, perhaps you want more than a sneak peak of a harbour here or a pub there. Maybe what you need is the bigger picture.
If that’s you then you’re in luck! Why not cast a glance over my latest Seaton Sluice original painting “Bobbing Boats at Seaton Sluice”. This stunning picture is the perfect portrayal of this coastal village - a must have for sea lovers and Northumberland appreciators. Bring a touch of that coastal charm into your living space with this one of a kind piece.
