St. Mary’s Lighthouse in Bloom Original Painting
This delightful seaside view celebrates the Victorian lighthouse of St. Mary’s, up the coast from Whitley Bay. Locals and holidaymakers climb the 137 steps to achieve views of the sandy shores and maybe spot a seal or two.
In this painting, artist Joanne Wishart frames her subject in beautiful crimson tones, with a field of poppies in the foreground. The lighthouse and former lighthouse keeper’s cottages sit atop the rocky island as the waves of the North Sea at high tide crash below and the windswept clouds chase across the sky.
